Job Title: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Chamberlain University is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team of healthcare professionals. As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and education to our students.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to teach in our online Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in psychiatric mental health nursing, including differential diagnosis, diagnosis and management, and capstone practicum. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatric mental health nursing, excellent teaching and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in an online environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach courses in psychiatric mental health nursing, including differential diagnosis, diagnosis and management, and capstone practicum.
  • Develop and implement course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to students on their academic progress and performance.
  • Participate in online discussions and forums to engage with students and facilitate learning.
  • Stay current with industry developments and best practices in psychiatric mental health nursing.
Requirements:
  • MSN and DNP (or MSN and PhD in nursing) degrees are required.
  • At least 1 year of practice experience directly in psychiatric mental health nursing is required.
  • Online teaching experience is preferred (preferably at the graduate level).
  • Must have active unencumbered RN nursing license; compact licensure is highly preferred.
  • Must have an active unencumbered APRN nursing license (PMHNP specialty) in one of the following states: Nebraska, Oklahoma and/or Pennsylvania.
  • PMHNP National Certification required.
  • Must have subject matter expertise in the course of instruction.
  • Faculty must have excellent communication, motivational, and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment.
  • Proficient in using MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), WebEx/Teams (or similar platform) and Internet.
