Pharmacy Intern

Job Summary

The Pharmacy Intern will support the drug distribution activities of the Department of Pharmacy Services under general supervision. The ideal candidate will be enrolled at MUSC College of Pharmacy and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and label medication orders accurately
Deliver medications to patient care areas in a timely fashion
Utilize a biological safety cabinet to prepare enteral hazardous drugs and chemotherapy, as applicable
Fill and exchange unit dose carts
Prepare extemporaneous dosage forms for strengths of medications not commercially available per policy
Perform crediting and returning functions for unused medications in a timely fashion
Operate automatic equipment efficiently to fill orders, if applicable
Document regulatory requirements on time in appropriate systems

Requirements

High school diploma
Enrollment at MUSC College of Pharmacy
Excellent communication and organizational skills
