Position Overview
An esteemed Oil and Gas organization is seeking a Solutions Engineer to enhance their Information Systems division. This role is pivotal in the development and improvement of software that underpins pipeline facility operations.
The Solutions Engineer will oversee the production of a specialized application focused on:
- Pipeline Leak Detection
- Future Emissions Detection
- Facility Leak Monitoring (currently under active development)
- Pump Curve Analysis
This application is operational and actively utilized, with a front-end redesign expected to be completed in three months. The engineer will collaborate with internal users, division engineers, and development teams to gather functional requirements from field staff and translate them into technical specifications for the development group.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with end users and stakeholders to understand operational needs.
- Create prototypes to demonstrate functional capabilities within the system.
- Facilitate communication between engineering teams and business units.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in the Oil and Gas sector, particularly in facility operations.
- Experience collaborating with software development and field engineering teams to create upstream Oil and Gas software solutions.
- Basic proficiency in SQL.
- Familiarity with Business Analyst duties.
- Educational background or experience in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering.
This position requires a commitment to onsite work, with standard hours from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with flexible early departures on Fridays. Some travel may be necessary, ranging from 10-20%.
