Job Summary:

As a Scrap Inspector I at Gerdau, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of incoming scrap materials. Your attention to detail and ability to identify potential issues will be essential in maintaining the highest standards of quality control.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct thorough visual inspections of incoming scrap loads to identify any defects, damage, or contamination.

2. Verify and document supplier information, including weight tickets and load contents, to ensure accurate inventory control.

3. Identify and report any environmental or safety hazards, such as gas tanks, enclosed cylinders, or batteries, and ensure proper disposal.

4. Use portable scanners to process supplier loads and enter data into the SAP computer system, ensuring accurate inventory control and data entry.

5. Communicate effectively with crane operators and direct traffic to ensure efficient unloading of materials.

6. Monitor all loads and material for potential fire hazards and follow all PPE requirements and safety rules/guidelines.

7. Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment, and engage in GBS tools and methodology.

Requirements:

1. High school education at a minimum.

2. Desire to enhance skills and knowledge to develop as a Gerdau employee.

3. Promote and practice the core values of Gerdau.
