Through our partnership with the local community college, our students will be able to take dual credit courses with the opportunity to earn college credit at no cost to the student.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified SPED Resource Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining student service logs, creating and modifying student lessons, and providing individual student services.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree or higher with at least 24 credit hours in a content area, a valid Indiana Teaching License for Grades 9-12 with SPED Endorsement, and at least one year of successful teaching in an urban environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain student service logs
  • Create and modify student lessons
  • Provide individual student services
  • Push into general education classrooms
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers
  • Provide services to students as outlined in IEPs
  • Write IEPs
  • Meet deadlines
  • Monitor progress
  • Maintain updated service schedule
  • Maintain updated caseload lists
  • Provide accommodations
  • Parental contacts with documentation
  • Facilitate academic testing
  • Facilitate state testing
  • Communicate suspensions
  • Attend all required staff meetings
  • File state documents in Special Education file and office
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher with at least 24 credit hours in a content area
  • Valid Indiana Teaching License for Grades 9-12 with SPED Endorsement
  • At least one year of successful teaching in an urban environment
