Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer II

UnityPoint Health is seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer II to join our team at the Allen Cardiovascular Center. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with clinic policy and procedure for adult patients, inpatient and outpatient status.
  • Apply cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic information and images.
  • Analyze sonograms, process sonographic information and medical history, and communicate findings to the appropriate physician.
  • Prepare preliminary reports and contact the referring physician when required, according to established protocols.
  • Initiate billing for testing performed and maintain active registry status.
Requirements:
  • Associates degree in Health Sciences or Radiologic Sciences.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in specialty field, i.e., vascular diagnostics or echocardiography.
  • Current registry in either cardiac and/or vascular sonography through the ARDMS/CCI.
  • Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English.
  • Multicultural sensitivity.
  • Microsoft Office - basic computer skills.
  • Customer/patient focused.
  • Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.
