Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus is at the forefront of research and surgery, leveraging cutting-edge technology to deliver world-class patient care. As a respected healthcare organization, we value our caregivers and offer endless support and appreciation. Our team of passionate and dedicated professionals work together to provide exceptional care to our patients.
The Lead Certified Sterile Processing Technician will lead the daily activities of the assigned SPD team or department, overseeing resource allocation and assisting with performance reviews. This role offers opportunities for growth and development, enabling you to acquire skills such as leadership, teamwork, innovation, and empathy, making a tangible difference in patients' lives every day.
This caregiver works an evening shift from 11:00pm-7:30am and provides technical expertise for all customers, internal and external. Troubleshooting processing equipment problems, including washers, sonics, endo processors, cart washers, sterilizers, and the instrument tracking system, is a key responsibility. You will also seek ways to eliminate errors, reduce turnaround time, maintain workflow, and enhance customer service.
To excel in this role, you must follow department standards when processing equipment, instrumentation, and chemicals, monitor and control supplies and equipment, resolve related issues, and demonstrate an understanding of proper handling and personal protective equipment standards in decontamination processes.
Key qualifications include:
- A High School diploma or GED
- A valid Sterile Processing Distribution certification through IAHCSMM/HSPA or CBSPD required
- Minimum one year of experience as a sterile processing, central service, and/or operating room technician
We are committed to providing the best outcomes for our patients across our facilities. Our benefits package includes competitive salaries and compensation packages that reflect various market averages, ranging between $70,000-$90,000 annually, depending on experience. We encourage each candidate to discuss salary specifics during the application and hiring process.
Additionally, our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients by lifting and carrying items weighing up to 25 pounds and navigating supply carts weighing over 75 pounds. Personal Protective Equipment is followed according to standard precautions.
