Nurse Practitioner

The US Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in an ambulatory healthcare setting. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare specialists, and contribute to the development and implementation of comprehensive nursing care plans.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patient care needs through analysis of data gained through interviews, review of health records, patient responses, and consultation with physicians and other staff members.
- Plan and implement nursing care plans by providing or directing comprehensive nursing care based on assessment of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients.
- Administer therapeutic measures as prescribed by physicians, including medications, treatments, intravenous fluids, naso-gastric suction, or irrigation, etc.
- A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program.
- Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
- Assess patients' conditions, record patients' medical histories and symptoms, observe patients and record the observations, administer patients' medicines and treatments, set up plans for patients' care or contribute information to existing plans, consult and collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals, operate and monitor medical equipment, help perform diagnostic tests and analyze the results, teach patients and their families how to manage illnesses or injuries, explain what to do at home after treatment.
