Role Overview

The Quality Assurance Specialist acts as the primary liaison for customers regarding material-related quality concerns, ensuring that any issues faced by customers are addressed effectively.

Quality-related challenges may arise at any stage of the product's supply chain, from suppliers to end-users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with customers through various communication channels to gather and document information regarding quality issues.
  • Adhere to established procedures to determine whether the issue stems from Avery Dennison's processes or the customer's processing methods.
  • Conduct tests on affected materials against predefined specifications and provide diagnostics and recommendations for products that do not meet quality standards.
  • Utilize problem-solving techniques to identify and rectify issues that may not be apparent through standard testing procedures.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Technical Leads, Customer Service, and other internal resources to gather information necessary for resolving customer quality concerns.
  • Facilitate on-site support if required to ascertain whether the issue is related to Avery Dennison's processing or the customer's processing.
  • Manage the claims process from assessment to credit issuance, including providing traceability information, material disposition, and corrective action letters.
  • Ensure prompt responsiveness to customer needs through timely complaint processing, maintaining a positive demeanor when addressing customer grievances.
  • Provide documentation of claim details upon customer request and proactively update them on claim status.
  • Act as an advocate for customers, offering valuable insights to the organization regarding customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as a neutral intermediary during claim investigations.
  • Analyze and summarize quality performance data for customers, identifying trends that may indicate recurring issues.
  • Collect material samples for further investigation and support quality improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver training to team members and external personnel as needed.
  • Develop expertise in specific areas to serve as a subject matter expert within the team.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, preferably in engineering.
  • 1-2 years of related experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, handling over 20 claims simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent time-management and prioritization abilities.
  • Collaborative mindset, capable of working well with colleagues at all organizational levels.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, including strong written and verbal communication.
  • Dependable and reliable, consistently delivering results.
  • Preferred knowledge of adhesive and silicone coating processes and label printing.
  • Familiarity with relevant software systems, including Google Platforms, Microsoft Office, and function-specific software.
