Key Responsibilities

  • Provide basic patient care procedures under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, including vital sign measurements, intake and output monitoring, and personal hygiene care.
  • Assist patients with their meals and feed patients who are unable to feed themselves, ensuring their nutritional needs are met.
  • Obtain routine specimens of urine, sputum, and feces, and perform treatments as directed by the RN, such as enemas, ice collar, sitz baths, and Foley catheter care.
  • Perform CPR and assist with post-mortem care, demonstrating a commitment to patient safety and well-being.
  • Assist patients with mobility and transfer, using safe lift equipment and positioning patients with care.
  • Clean and organize bedside units, utility rooms, nourishment areas, and nurses' station, maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology and strong interpersonal and team skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate responsibility and accountability for actions.
  • HEARTSAVER CPR/AED certification required.
