Job Summary
Northwell Health is seeking a Sr Patient Care Associate to join our team in the North-Emergency Room. As a key member of the nursing care team, you will assist patients with activities of daily living, provide basic nursing care, and perform various procedures, exams, and tests.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Provide basic nursing care, including vital sign checks, wound care, and medication administration.
- Perform various procedures, exams, and tests, such as EKGs, venipunctures, and blood glucose monitoring.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment, including restocking supplies and disposing of waste.
- Communicate and document patient status, including vital signs, medications, and treatment plans.
- Transport patients to various departments, as directed, and perform post-mortem care.
- Follow established safety, waste disposal, and infection control procedures at all times.
- Participate in continuing education programs, surveys, and staff meetings, as directed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Heart Saver Certification, preferred.
- Demonstrated competency in at least one of the following: EKG testing or venipuncture procedure, preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and/or oral instructions.
- Ability to operate all medical equipment necessary to perform job duties.
- Ability to lift, turn, position, move, and restrain patients as required.
Additional Information
