About the Role:

The Ithaca City School District is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our school facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces
  • Restock supplies and materials as needed
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and machinery
  • Assist with special events and projects as needed

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be eligible to take the Wayne County Civil Service Custodian exam
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
