About the Role

Hunger Free America VISTA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced VISTA Leader to join our team. As a VISTA Leader, you will play a critical role in building the capacity of our service members and the program as a whole.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to a cohort of VISTA members to ensure they are supported and can fulfill their program responsibilities.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and communicate project requirements and reminders to your VISTA cohort.
  • Understand, monitor, and support the scope and progress of each member's Volunteer Assignment Description (VAD).
  • Support the onboarding and offboarding process for VISTA members, including training, communications, and technical assistance.
  • Plan and facilitate member engagement activities that create opportunities for VISTA members to learn, connect, and engage with one another.
  • Implement VISTA member appreciation initiatives, including welcome and farewell celebrations, Volunteer Appreciation Week programming, and social media content highlighting VISTA member accomplishments.
  • Craft and propose ad hoc special projects that benefit VISTA members and the program.
Requirements
  • Candidate must have completed at least one year of full-time service with AmeriCorps or Peace Corps.
  • Volunteer management experience, mentorship and coaching experience, and comfort with public speaking and training others are highly valued.
