About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Watch Engineer to join our team at Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corporation. As a Watch Engineer, you will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical equipment, motors, and engines onboard our Hydraulic Dredge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine tasks such as hooking up hoses, cleaning, and assisting with fuel transfer operations.
  • Troubleshoot with the Chief Engineer and other crew members to determine malfunctions.
  • Conduct periodic checks and visually inspect equipment, including engines, motors, pumps, batteries, gauges, and valves.
  • Maintain logs, ledgers, and work orders regarding the overall performance of the dredge's equipment.
Requirements:
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Watch Engineer or Engineer-of-the-Watch.
  • Ability to learn engineering systems associated with dredge equipment.
  • Proficient computer skills and maintaining information databases.
  • Valid TWIC and reliable transportation.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
