Job Summary:

TalentSource is seeking a skilled Machinist Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Machine Shop, you will work closely with our Engineers and Programmers to ensure the fabrication of high-quality parts and assemblies meets our company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate machine tools with minimal assistance, ensuring efficient production and high-quality results.
  • Analyze job orders, drawings, and specifications to determine the optimal machine tool, work holding, and cutter selection.
  • Perform in-process quality inspection and record-keeping, maintaining accurate records and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Machine Shop Programmer and Engineers to develop and implement process improvements, reducing part quality variation and increasing efficiency.
  • Participate in internal training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • U.S. Person status required due to export control regulations.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Understanding of machine tool clearances, fixture offsets, and cutting tool offsets.
  • Minimum of 1+ years of MasterCam experience.
  • Ability to work in a loud environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to interpret blueprint and quality requirements.
  • Available to work periodic mandatory weekends and overtime.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50lbs.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The Machinist Specialist will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, high temperatures, and loud noise levels. The role requires manual dexterity, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 50lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
