Job Summary

United Community Action Partnership, Inc. is seeking a skilled Transportation Professional to join our team. As a Public Service Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers and operating a passenger bus in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation Operations: Pick up and deliver passengers safely and on schedule, utilizing daily schedules and dispatch ride assignments.
  • Decision Making: Make sound and immediate decisions based on traffic and road conditions, as well as bus operations.
  • Route Planning: Efficiently select booked trips according to times and locations, working with staff to set up routes and schedule special events.
  • Bus Operations: Operate the bus in a safe manner, following driver policies and procedures, and understand and follow MnDOT, Agency, and Program guidelines.
  • Customer Service: Provide positive public relations and program awareness, inform passengers of policies and procedures, and collect and submit passenger fees as directed.
  • Teamwork: Treat and assist passengers in a positive, professional manner, and support and model United's Behavioral Competencies.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Class C or higher commercial driver's license (CDL) with passenger endorsement, and one (1) year of previous related experience.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of road use, laws, and regulations, ability to relate in a courteous and professional manner, and demonstrated effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to safely operate and maintain passenger bus and wheelchair lift in all conditions, and ability to read maps.
  • Personal Qualities: Reliable, regular attendance, and ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team.
