The Head of Engineering and Maintenance Operations is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the comprehensive management of our maintenance department.
Location: Yoakum, TX
Eligibility: Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Oversight:
Formulate and execute maintenance strategies to ensure optimal functionality and durability of all equipment and facilities.
Establish and supervise preventive maintenance schedules while managing the execution of maintenance activities.
Administer the maintenance budget, ensuring cost control and efficient resource utilization.
Engineering Initiatives:
Identify and implement engineering enhancements and cost-saving measures.
Lead engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget constraints.
Collaborate with various teams to achieve project goals.
Leadership Development:
Recruit, mentor, and develop team members within the maintenance and refrigeration sectors.
Set performance objectives and provide constructive feedback and assessments.
Promote a culture centered on safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Regulatory Compliance and Safety:
Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and industry standards.
Implement and uphold safety protocols to guarantee a secure working environment.
Asset Management:
Maintain precise records of all equipment and facility assets.
Plan for necessary asset replacements, upgrades, and modernization initiatives.
Financial Management:
Prepare and oversee the budget for the maintenance and engineering department.
Monitor spending and identify opportunities for cost efficiency.
Vendor Relations:
Assess and manage relationships with maintenance and engineering service providers.
Negotiate contracts and oversee their execution.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify and implement process optimization and efficiency enhancement opportunities.
Adopt best practices to improve overall maintenance and engineering operations.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in a relevant discipline (e.g., mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering).
Demonstrated experience in maintenance and engineering leadership roles, with a proven track record in project management.
Strong technical knowledge of machinery, equipment, and facilities.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Familiarity with safety regulations, compliance, and risk management.
Skills in budget management and cost control.
Lean/Six Sigma Certification is preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively across various management levels, both verbally and in writing.
Capacity to articulate concerns and potential project challenges in a professional manner.
Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute tasks in a dynamic work environment.
Physical Requirements:
The role requires the ability to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, climb, reach overhead, and bend.
Must be capable of exerting 50 pounds of force frequently and up to 60 pounds occasionally.
Environmental conditions may vary, including exposure to hot and cold temperatures.
Weekend or shift assignments may be necessary as required.
