- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must complete Petco's Positive Dog Training Instructor Program within established timelines.
- Background in public speaking, presenting, and facilitating groups.
- Comfort with technology and ability to coach others on troubleshooting issues.
- Basic computer skills and ability to quickly research information.
- CPDT-KA or Karen Pryor Academy (KPA-CTP) certifications.
- Previous experience teaching positive reinforcement dog training techniques in group or class settings.
The majority of job duties are conducted indoors, with occasional brief departures for merchandise receiving, carry-outs, or stock balancing. This role requires bending, kneeling, moving merchandise, and standing for extended periods. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and pull 2000 lbs using material handling equipment. Follow all safety precautions and procedures.
