Position Overview:


Texas Oncology is seeking a Lead Certified Medical Assistant to become a vital part of our healthcare team. This role is essential in delivering high-quality support in a clinical environment.

This is a full-time position with a standard workweek, ensuring a healthy work-life balance with no weekend or holiday shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:
1. Escort patients to and from examination rooms and treatment areas as necessary.


2. Accurately record patient information prior to physician consultations, including vital signs, medical history, and medication updates.

3. Gather required patient documentation and confirm consent before treatments or procedures.

4. Prepare and maintain examination and treatment rooms, ensuring all supplies are stocked and ready for use.

5. Assist physicians during examinations and procedures as needed.

6. Provide patient education by distributing informative materials and answering questions.

7. Collect blood samples from patients while adhering to safety protocols.

8. Administer injections as directed by healthcare providers.

9. Ensure compliance with sanitation protocols in examination and treatment areas.

10. Manage patient calls, including prescription refills and appointment scheduling.

11. Assist with administrative tasks such as filing and data entry as requested.

12. Maintain programs for indigent and sample medications as assigned.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program is highly preferred.

3. A minimum of five years of experience in a medical assistant or nursing role within a clinical setting.

4. Phlebotomy experience is a plus.

5. Current CPR certification is required.

6. Compliance with state regulations regarding Medical Assistant certifications may be necessary.
