Job Title: Registered Nurse

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at a top hospital in the Chicago suburbs. This is a full-time position with a 36-hour workweek, working evenings and every weekend.

Job Summary:

The Clinical Nurse utilizes the nursing process in the delivery of patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical skillset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provides patient assessment and collection of health data, analyzing health data to determine nursing diagnoses and expected outcomes.
  2. Develops and implements a plan of care that identifies interventions to achieve expected outcomes, evaluating patient progress and revising the plan as needed.
  3. Coordinates patient care to ensure interventions are consistent, safe, timely, and appropriate, assessing continuity of care and evaluating coordination of interventions by the interdisciplinary team.
  4. Communicates clearly and effectively with patients, families, medical personnel, and other members of the healthcare team, documenting patient health data, interventions, and communications.
  5. Individualizes patient and family teaching based on a thorough assessment, assessing patient learning style and learning barriers and modifying the teaching plan accordingly.
  6. Participates in evaluating quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, providing evidence-based, clinically competent nursing care in a culturally sensitive manner.
  7. Maintains professional knowledge in current nursing practice standards, laws, and regulations, demonstrating commitment to lifelong learning through ongoing participation in education activities.
  8. Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers, students, and other healthcare providers, sharing knowledge, providing feedback, and contributing to an environment supportive of clinical education.
  9. Facilitates decisions and actions on behalf of patients in an ethical manner, maintaining patient confidentiality, acting as a patient advocate, and assisting patients in becoming informed consumers about cost, risk, and benefits of treatment and care.
Requirements:
  1. Successful completion of an Associate's degree or BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
  2. Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Illinois.
  3. Current CPR certification for basic life support provider through the American Heart Association.
  4. The analytical skills necessary to assess a patient's condition and utilize the nursing process and professional judgment in providing comprehensive care.
  5. The interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with patients, families, medical personnel, and other members of the healthcare team.
  6. The ability to perform effectively and efficiently under the pressure of stressful emergency situations or other difficult situations.
  7. The critical thinking skills and technical competencies related to specialty area of practice.
