Position Overview

The physician will be accountable for the assessment, prevention, and management of health concerns presented by patients.

Key Responsibilities


Foster and maintain constructive and effective working relationships with fellow Corewell Health staff, while promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, compassion, collaboration, clarity, curiosity, and courage.

Exhibit a strong commitment to service and personalized care for both internal stakeholders (colleagues, hospital personnel, etc.) and external stakeholders (patients, family members, referring physicians, etc.), aiming to surpass customer expectations.

Assist in achieving operational, financial, and patient satisfaction objectives. Ensure timely completion of all required competencies and annual organizational mandates.

Evaluate and address the medical needs of patients.

Deliver high-quality medical services to patients in a cost-effective and appropriate manner, ensuring consistent coverage of case load.


Maintain regular communication with patients' families, referring physicians, specialists, nursing staff, and other hospital departments regarding care plans and patient treatment, including within 24 hours of admission for any significant changes in a patient's condition, and prior to discharge.

Document medical services in the patient's medical record in accordance with hospital, payer, and regulatory standards.

Participate in on-call and weekend coverage as required by the department. Engage in value-based reimbursement programs and quality initiatives as mandated by the department.

Contribute to Quality Improvement (QI) / Quality Assurance (QA) and peer review activities as requested.

Assist in the formulation of policies and procedures related to medical practice and quality patient care as needed.

Engage in ongoing process improvement activities through the development and application of clinical pathways, process enhancement, and related initiatives.

Support patient involvement in clinical trials and research projects, assessing clinical safety and efficacy data in line with Research Institute policies.


Provide guidance, education, and mentorship to fellows, residents, advanced practice providers (e.g., physician assistants and nurse practitioners), students, and others (as appropriate) delivering services to patients, including meaningful collaboration with affiliated medical schools as requested.
