Job SummaryThe Production Supervisor will be responsible for managing and supporting Packaging operations, ensuring a trained and proficient workforce, and meeting department and company goals on quality, yield, productivity, cost, and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and coordinate production activities with maintenance, scheduling, product management, live haul, weigh and price, and loading dock to deliver a quality on-time product to consumers.
- Responsible for processing/production department(s) and meeting department and company goals and standards on quality, yield, productivity, cost, and safety.
- Develop and train supervisors and employees, working within the guidelines of Company Policies.
- Provide quick and timely feedback to the plant manager on exceptions in regards to productivity, downtime, quality, yield, cost, safety, and manage the correction of areas out of acceptable parameters.
- Ensure department compliance with Company policies, law, and regulations, including USDA, SSOP, and HACCP programs, and all OSHA required safety programs.
- Administer safety orientations and safety meetings to keep frequency and severity to a minimum.
- Participate in department meetings in the planning process and testing and development of techniques/processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management (or a related field) and/or equivalent work experience.
- Five to ten years with increasingly responsible management positions in the poultry processing industry.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Able to evaluate supervision fairly and objectively.
- Strong leadership skills and internal drive to succeed.
- Able to prioritize and adjust quickly to a changing work environment with minimal supervision to meet changing production needs.
- Advanced problem-solving skills and independent decision-making.
