General Overview and Classification Standards

Responsible for developing, interpreting, and executing financial strategies for effective fiscal management. This position is classified as a senior-level finance role.

Supervision Received

Operates under minimal supervision. Depending on the organizational structure, may work autonomously with accountability for a designated function or program.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

Formulates, interprets, and implements financial strategies for effective fiscal management. Conducts detailed analyses to assess current and future financial performance. Collects, evaluates, prepares, and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, projected future needs, and operational forecasts.

Engages in economic research and analysis in areas such as return on investment, depreciation, working capital needs, investment opportunities, performance evaluation, and the implications of regulatory requirements.

Handles assignments that are generally straightforward. Collaborates with senior colleagues on various projects.

Decision-Making Authority

Chooses from various procedures and methods to achieve objectives while adhering to organizational policies.

Leadership Responsibilities

Regularly provides guidance, mentorship, and training to junior staff. Acts as a technical resource or mentor to colleagues. May lead or instruct less experienced employees in specialized or technical roles.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Comprehensive understanding of financial concepts and processes. Strong grasp of the interplay between professional disciplines and other organizational functions. Proficient in Microsoft Office, accounting software, and databases. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to present information effectively. Capable of applying professional expertise to complete tasks with limited oversight. Quick and accurate numerical processing skills. Ability to identify inconsistencies and address issues as they arise or escalate them appropriately. Capacity to train others and build effective relationships within the organization. These responsibilities are typical for this role and should not be interpreted as exhaustive. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications | Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of the required degree on an exceptional basis).
  • A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience.
  • Possession of project management or leadership experience is a plus.
Preferred Education & Experience

Master's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of the Master's degree on an exceptional basis) along with five years of financial experience. Licenses and Certifications are not required.
