Key Responsibilities
The Senior Process Engineer will spearhead piping design project teams, ensuring the delivery of outstanding designs for various projects, including power, industrial, healthcare, and government facilities. The role involves guiding the project team through all phases of design and construction, adjusting process plans to meet budgetary and client requirements.
- Oversee the process design from conceptualization to completion, aligning with project specifications.
- Draft process chemical specifications, data sheets, and technical bid summaries.
- Evaluate vendor drawings and coordinate with suppliers and other engineering disciplines.
- Contribute to project scheduling, budgeting, and staffing, managing change orders effectively.
- Utilize expert knowledge of process engineering standards and practices.
- Develop innovative solutions for complex projects.
- Conduct quality reviews of production drawings and project-related data.
- Manage construction administration and collaborate with field personnel to address installation challenges.
- Lead field inspections and measurements for both public and private sector clients.
- Prepare and deliver technical reports for clients and industry publications.
- Foster strong relationships with clients and contractors, identifying new business opportunities.
- Engage in sales and marketing initiatives to target key projects.
- Lead the preparation of cost proposals and project budgets, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
- Ensure adherence to QA/QC processes and effective communication across engineering disciplines.
- Comply with all safety policies and standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program, with a minimum of 7 years of process engineering experience; EPC project experience is preferred.
- Master's degree in Chemical Engineering with 6 years of relevant experience may also be considered.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering techniques and process design codes (ASME, ANSI, API, PIP, NACE).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and process simulation software (e.g., Hysys, Aspen).
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience leading design efforts for large projects and delegating tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to perform quality reviews of engineering documents.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred.
