We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at Mount Sinai West. This is a full-time contract position with variable hours, including some weekends and holidays.
About the Job:
This role involves delivering patient care by integrating the tenets of a professional practice model centered on relationships and applying the nursing process based on theory, research, and evidence-based practice.
Responsibilities:
- Audit and evaluate patient care needs, using critical thinking skills in patient care management.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams in the development, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
- Prioritize all aspects of patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, planning after hospital care, and delegating to others as appropriate.
- Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care, transition of care, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and all members of the interdisciplinary care team.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred. An Associate degree in Nursing is considered with relevant experience and/or active matriculation in a BSN program.
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience; 2 years of medicine experience.
- EPIC experience highly preferred, great organizational skills.
