Job Summary
The Operating Room Registered Nurse is a key member of the Cynet Health team, responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the operating room environment. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be accountable for ongoing evaluation and documentation of all components of care delivered to patients within the perioperative and outpatient environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Follows and completes assignments as given by the charge nurse.
- Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis.
- Gathers supplies and equipment for surgical cases.
- Individualizes patient care according to patient's health status, age level, and surgery/procedure being performed.
- Prepares surgery suite for surgical procedures.
- Scrubs and circulates for surgical procedures for various surgeons that operate.
- Restocks supplies in the surgery suite when procedures have ended for the day.
- Monitors surgery inventory and notifies appropriate individuals when supplies are needed.
- Operates equipment and performs technical skills according to policies and standards; learns new skills and seeks assistance appropriately.
- Assesses patient's needs, including physical, psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, educational, sexual, and age-related needs.
- Implements good judgment and critical thinking appropriate to the situation.
- Documents are complete, clear, concise, and according to policy and procedures.
- Ensures that the Surgery Department and Operating Rooms are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- RN state license - unencumbered and active.
- Minimum one year recent OR experience in a hospital.
- Active AHA BLS required, ACLS preferred.
