Firefighter Mechanic

Job Summary:

Walla Walla County Fire District #4 is seeking a highly skilled Firefighter Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a comprehensive maintenance program for all Fire District apparatus, ensuring they are in optimal working condition. Additionally, the Firefighter Mechanic will perform firefighting and EMS duties, meeting the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) language for a firefighter within the first 24 months of employment.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a maintenance program for all Fire District apparatus

Perform firefighting and EMS duties, meeting CBA language requirements

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities

Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations

Requirements:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent

Associate's Degree or equivalent training in heavy truck or automotive repair

Minimum three (3) years full-time experience as a heavy truck or automotive mechanic

Basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, internet, and maintenance software

Ability to pass District's physical agility test and maintain excellent health
