Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Alabama Community College System. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our campus facilities, including electrical systems, HVAC equipment, and building repairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems, including circuit troubleshooting and repair
  • Assist with HVAC maintenance and repairs, including filter changes and thermostat programming
  • Conduct minor electrical, mechanical, and plumbing repairs, including plumbing fixture replacement and carpentry work
  • Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, including changing filters and belts
  • Respond to emergency repairs and requests, including after-hours and weekend calls
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Three years of full-time experience in building repairs and maintenance, with knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to work non-standard hours and overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certificate in relevant specialized area, such as electrical or HVAC
  • Five years of full-time experience in building repairs and maintenance, with knowledge of electrical systems
