The Adult Medical Surgical Registered Nurse is a vital member of our healthcare team, providing high-quality patient care and promoting a positive patient experience. As a Medical Surgical/Telemetry Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and providing individualized patient and family teaching.
Responsibilities- Conduct individualized patient assessments, prioritizing data collection based on individual needs and condition.
- Collaborate with other team members in the development, implementation, and evaluation of individualized patient care plans.
- Perform appropriate treatments and therapies as ordered by physicians in a timely and effective manner.
- Provide individualized patient and family teaching, promoting health and wellness.
- Document patient assessments, findings, and psychosocial responses to nursing interventions.
- Initiate emergency measures according to adult and client resuscitation protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality related to patient, family, client facility, and staff in accordance with HIPAA.
- Provide patient care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner, considering cultural diversity and age appropriateness.
- Advocate patient rights with respect to advance directives and organ donation.
- Report patient condition to appropriate personnel during each shift, as needed based on individualized patient assessment.
- Maintain competency by participating in continuing education programs and meeting state-specific requirements.
- Comply with accepted ethical conduct and professional standards of nursing practice as set forth by the American Nurses Association or equivalent national organization.
- Demonstrate ability to delegate effectively and appropriately.
- Current and unrestricted RN nursing license in the state of practice.
- One year of experience as an RN in an Adult Medical Surgical Unit in the last three years.
- Current CPR at least to the BLS level; and other health and screening tests as required by specific facilities and/or regulatory agencies.
