Role Details:

  • Work Schedule: Night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM

The PICU at UMC Children's Hospital specializes in the care of patients aged 0-20 who are facing critical health challenges. This role provides the opportunity to work within a 16-bed unit that emphasizes medical and surgical care in a collaborative, family-oriented atmosphere.

Our team consists of over 30 specialists from diverse fields, ensuring comprehensive treatment for a variety of conditions, including trauma, cardiology, neurology, oncology, and burn care.

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to deliver exceptional nursing care through thorough assessment, strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient treatment, all in line with our care philosophy. Effective communication with other shifts and departments is essential to maintain continuity of care.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Possession of an active Texas RN License or eligibility for a Compact License
  • Current BLS and PALS certification from the American Heart Association
  • ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (preferred)
  • BSN degree required or to be obtained within 3 years of employment
  • Pediatric CCRN or Certified Pediatric Nurse Certification (preferred)
