Job Summary

The Imaging Receptionist, under general supervision, performs a broad range of functions to facilitate activities of the assigned patient care area. Receives and greets patients, maintains filing system, utilizes PC to enter, print and retrieve information. Compiles data for next day appointments matching appointments to actual physician orders; coordinates medical reporting and records for review; assists technologists as needed with orders or physician liaison; assist radiologist in scheduling special procedures relaying detail to radiology RNs for appropriate follow up, perform operator functions, patient receiving and other duties as directed by the Supervisor/Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ability to effectively communicate information to staff and patients with quality customer service skills.
  • Ability to deliver quality customer service to all inclusive of interdepartmental verbal, written communications.
  • Ability to communicate in user friendly simple laymen terms to assure understanding, accept questions from others and return gracious feedback.
  • Ability to effectively apply organizational skills assuring patients and staff are well informed, demonstrating telephone, verbal/non-verbal, fax and email etiquette.
  • Ability to evaluate the demands of physicians, staff and superiors, responding timely and appropriately.
  • Ability to communicate information concerning patients' pertinent clinical information, assuring legibility and demographic completeness.
  • Ability to be at work and be on time.
  • Ability to follow company policies, procedures and directives.
  • Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.

Requirements
  • One year clerical and filing experience preferred.
  • Imaging Department experience preferred.

Education/Licensure/Certification
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic computer understanding preferred.
  • Medical Terminology preferred.
