We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Safety Specialist to join our team at the Massachusetts Port Authority. As a key member of our Capital Programs & Environmental Affairs Department, you will play a critical role in advancing our vision of transforming the industry through groundbreaking approaches.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, focusing on reducing employee injuries and controlling costs.
  • Assist in the creation and adaptation of safety programs in response to new regulations and initiatives, ensuring alignment with OSHA standards and Massport policies.
  • Provide safety support across all Massport facilities and construction projects, including conducting inspections, audits, and accident investigations.
  • Manage Industrial Hygiene & Asbestos Abatement contracts, overseeing asbestos removal, coordinating with relevant agencies, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols and budgets.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial hygiene, public health and safety, occupational safety, or related technical field.
  • 5-7 years' experience implementing comprehensive safety programs, emphasizing construction safety and compliance.
  • Proficient in Massachusetts and federal laws, regulations, and OSHA Safety Standards 1926 Construction and 1910 General Industry.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with a Massachusetts Class D driver's license.
