Job Summary

The Variel of Woodland Hills is seeking a skilled Utility Worker - Food Service to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment, assisting with food preparation, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Service and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to high standards of sanitation and food safety.
  • Food Preparation: Assist with food preparation, including storing food and non-food supplies, and performing kitchen activities such as ware-washing, dish washing, and pot washing.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, including setting tables, clearing tables, and assisting serving staff as needed.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean and sanitize production equipment, work surfaces, and areas in the kitchen.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with inventory management, including ordering and stocking supplies.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with all Culinary Services staff to ensure seamless service and high-quality food.
Requirements
  • Experience: 6 months previous utility or dish washing experience preferred.
  • Communication: Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally, and to stand and walk for 3-8 hours per day.
Working Conditions

The Utility Worker - Food Service will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, exposed to hot and cold temperatures, and industrial cleaning chemicals. Must be able to perform sweeping/mopping functions with ease and push and pull bus carts and tray carts weighing up to 100 lbs.
