Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Care Assistant to join our team at UNTWN Uniontown Hospital. As a Nursing Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide and assist with patient care, including basic hygiene, comfort, support, and safety measures.
  • Communicate patient information accurately and recognize when to call or report information to the nurse.
  • Orient patients and their significant others to the unit and patient room upon admission and ongoing.
  • Answer call lights and perform purposeful rounding to ensure patient and family needs are met.
  • Document assigned tasks according to policy and procedures of the unit.
  • Clean all patient equipment and notify the appropriate department for repair.
  • Perform efficiently in emergency situations, such as Code 68 and Code Yellow.
  • Prepare and transport patients and perform courier duties for the department.
  • Restock and ensure adequate supplies for patient care.
  • Monitor and record temperature logs according to unit.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly nursing unit, hallway, and utility room.
Requirements
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and twisting.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to/over 50 pounds.
Working Environment
  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, latex, and radiation.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to attend to more than one aspect of a situation simultaneously.
  • Efficiency in processing verbal information, either in written or spoken form.
  • Some independent thought, planning, or origination of options and solutions.
  • Ability to apply principles of reasoning and problem-solving to resolve practical problems.
