Job Summary

Carilion Clinic is seeking a skilled School Health Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to students and staff in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate student health services to achieve optimal health outcomes.
  • Collaborate with students, staff, and other healthcare professionals to improve student health and well-being.
  • Review health records, maintain accurate records, and complete required reports.
  • Provide care for students with illnesses, injuries, or special needs, including administering medications and providing treatments as directed by physicians and parents.
  • Work independently in the school clinic, with occasional support from the School Nurse Manager.
  • Provide training, education, and guidance to principal's designees on healthcare procedures.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and patient care, demonstrating respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in every interaction.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing.
  • Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
  • One year of supervised nursing experience in community or pediatric nursing preferred.
  • Current RN licensure and BLS certification required.
  • Keyboarding and computer skills required for maintenance of EMR.
