Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Nurse to join our team at JWCH Institute. As a key member of our care team, you will provide quality nursing care to patients in a preventive health care setting.

• Conduct thorough assessments and triage for all walk-in patients, including vital signs and complete evaluations.
• Administer medications as needed, including oral, IM, SC, and SL medications.
• Assist medical providers with procedures as necessary, including I.V. placement and monitoring.
• Monitor acutely ill patients until they are stable for transport to hospital or until paramedics arrive.
• Provide patient education and teaching, scheduling patient hospital or doctor appointments as necessary.
• Assign daily nursing duties, identifying and correcting patient flow deficiencies.
• Organize and maintain dispensary medication inventory, removing expired medications and packaging them for proper disposal.
• Collaborate with the Clinic Administrator to improve systematic functions and develop a communication network between medical staff and other departments.
• Educate and train back office staff to their highest potential, identifying areas of educational and training needs.
• Monitor and maintain adherence to the Nursing Training Manual and Agency Policies and Procedures.

• Licensed by the State of California to practice as a Registered Nurse.
• Current CPR card by American Heart Association.
• At least one year experience in an ambulatory care setting.
• Experience working with patients and staff from diverse socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.
• Possess a valid California Driver's license and able to travel to different sites.
• Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary care team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
• Commitment to providing compassionate and culturally sensitive care to underserved populations.

• Bilingual (Spanish/English).
