We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse - Oncology Specialist to join our team at WellSpan Health. As a key member of our oncology team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to individuals with cancer and hematologic diagnoses.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct nursing care to patients with cancer and hematologic diagnoses
- Assess treatment plans and evaluate patient care needs
- Carry out physician orders and administer prescribed medications and chemotherapy
- Evaluate oncology patients and plan, implement, and document nursing care
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures
- Provide supportive care and administration of chemotherapy, blood components, fluid & electrolyte replacements, and other oncology treatments as prescribed
- Diploma or Associate's degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with 2 years of hematology/oncology experience preferred
- Licensed Registered Nurse upon hire required; Basic Life Support certification required
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider card certification through the Oncology Nursing Society required
Our oncology unit is a 32-bed telemetry unit that specializes in the care of patients 18 years and older with medical oncology needs. We provide a supportive and collaborative work environment, with opportunities for professional growth and development.
