Job Title: Direct Support Professional

Job Summary:

Friendship Community Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team in Marshall, AR. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our clients, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Clients with Daily Living Skills: Provide assistance with basic living skills, including showers, dressing, housekeeping, grocery shopping, meal preparation, and financial budgeting.
  • Transportation and Errands: Safely transport clients to and from activities and appointments, utilizing a valid Arkansas driver's license.
  • Communication and Documentation: Maintain open communication with staff regarding client needs and progress, accurately completing all required documentation, including behavioral reports, incident reports, and progress notes.
  • Medication Management: Follow proper medication management guidelines and assist in monitoring and documenting these procedures.
  • Recreational Activities: Organize and participate in recreational activities for clients, promoting socialization and enjoyment.
  • Confidentiality and Compliance: Maintain confidentiality of all information received regarding Friendship Community Care, adhering to our Non-Disclosure Policy and HIPAA procedures.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; two+ years of experience working with developmentally disabled individuals preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid Arkansas driver's license and reliable transportation with state minimum liability insurance.
  • Background Check: Pass a background check and maintain a clean driving record.

Work Environment:

The work environment is typically moderate, with occasional exposure to noise and stress. As a safety-sensitive position, you must be able to pass a background check, drug screen, and maintain a clean driving record.
