About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our team at Doctors Hospital of Augusta. As a key member of our surgical team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional surgical nursing care to patients, utilizing the nursing process and collaborating with other members of the healthcare delivery team.
- Assist in emergency procedures, as well as elective and scheduled cases.
- Work alongside surgical teams to ensure patients receive the best possible care.
- Serve as a liaison between the surgical team and patients' families.
- Organize supplies needed for patients and maintain a sterile operating room.
- Assess patients before, during, and after surgery, and perform count procedures to protect patients from unintended retained foreign objects.
- Administer medications in accordance with physician orders and actively involve patients or designated support persons in decisions affecting their post-perioperative plan of care and rehabilitation process.
Requirements
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing, with an Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher.
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state in which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification is required.
- Minimum of 1 year previous experience in Perioperative Nursing is required.
