About the Role

This position requires a skilled technologist to perform noninvasive vascular testing, preliminary interpretation and reporting of test results, and independent triage patient history and exam requests. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing technical factors while maximizing patient safety and applying principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable).

The work environment is typically clinical, with accountability for satisfying all job-specific obligations and complying with organization policies and procedures. A career ladder opportunity exists for advancement within the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensures correct orders are obtained, patients are properly identified and prepared for exams, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.
  • Utilizes appropriate imaging protocols and optimizes technical factors to ensure maximum patient safety and quality care.
  • Preparing and/or administering medications through new or existing vascular access sites as prescribed by licensed practitioners.
  • Evaluates images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality, verifying archival storage and/or transfer of data.
  • Educating and monitoring students and other healthcare providers.
  • Performing diagnostic vascular sonographic procedures as prescribed by licensed practitioners or during educational activities.
Requirements
  • Registered Vascular Technologist - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Vascular Specialist - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Sonography - required within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary range for this role is $85,000-$110,000, commensurate with experience. Comprehensive benefits include full health, dental, and vision coverage, starting on day one, as well as pre-tax savings plans, company-paid life insurance, short-term disability, and long-term disability coverage, and a 401(k) plan with automatic Geisinger contributions.
