About the Role:
We are looking for a well-organized, self-motivated, and reliable individual with a strong interest in workers' human rights. Oral and written fluency in Chinese and proficiency in English is a must. Translation experience is desirable, as is interest in Chinese labor issues.
Responsibilities:
Assist with Chinese-English or English-Chinese translations, including CLW investigative reports and other materials for Chinese and English speaking audiences. Carry out other tasks under the direction of the team, including seeking out and applying for funding opportunities, bookkeeping, correspondence, and research. Assist in administrative tasks when necessary.
Qualifications:
Applicants should be well-organized, self-motivated, and reliable, with a strong interest in workers' human rights. Oral and written fluency in Chinese and proficiency in English is a must. Translation experience is desirable. Interest in Chinese labor issues is also desirable.
Time Commitment & Application Deadlines:
21 hours or 28 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months. The position is available now and applications are considered on a rolling basis.
Stipend & School Credit:
After fulfilling three months of work, CLW will offer a stipend/wage of $16 hour to the intern. We can also work with interns so they can obtain academic credit or outside funding. A full-time position after the internship will depend on the performance of the candidate as well as available funding.
