Job Title: Controller

Hallmark Glass Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Controller to join our team. As a key member of our financial department, you will be responsible for monitoring the company's financial status and accounting policies, reviewing budgets, and ensuring timely payments.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement accounting policies to ensure compliance with all rules and regulations.
  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers to ensure accurate and timely charges and payments.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • Direct month-end closing process, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Process daily paperwork and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Work closely with insurance agencies, managing insurance paperwork and providing Certificates of Insurance as needed.
  • Prepare annual tax documents, including 1099s and W-4 forms, and assist the CPA in completing tax returns.
  • Complete prevailing wage forms and other applicable documentation for state projects.
  • Utilize AIA invoicing for commercial projects and handle AIA bonds.
  • Hold weekly financial meetings to review financial statements, business activity reports, and financial position forecasts.
  • Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies, and current accounting standards.
  • Coordinate audits of company accounts, insurance, and financial transactions.
  • Determine depreciation rates for assets.
  • Handle debt management and collection.
  • Review and analyze budgets, costs, and profits.
  • Set and monitor key performance indicators.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and developments.
  • Create risk assessment models.
  • Create and present reports on the company's financial performance.
  • Process payroll with ADP.
  • Work closely with the Estimator and Project Management team on all jobs.
  • Handle HR paperwork, ensuring employee compliance with all required forms.
  • Perform minimal marketing on social media platforms.
  • Drive as needed to meetings, job sites, and pick up financial documents.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Certification as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is not required but welcomed.
  • Previous experience as a Controller or in a similar position is preferred.
  • Understanding of all relevant accounting principles, procedures, and regulations.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Google Drive, databases, and accounting software.
  • Must have experience with QuickBooks Online.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
  • Prior experience in the Glass and Glazing industry or similar is preferred.
