Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Tidelands Health. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fills medication orders for inpatient and outpatient areas, clinics, and other departments.
  • Compounds, labels, and repackages medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Loads and refills Pyxis Medstations, working towards optimal inventory levels.
  • Assists pharmacists in processing controlled substance requisitions and associated documentation.
  • Delivers supplies to patient units and ancillary areas as needed.
  • Answers telephones and responds to questions and problems as authorized.
  • Performs clerical and billing duties as assigned, maintaining logs and filing systems.
  • Orders medications and supplies from suppliers as assigned, types P.O.s, and checks orders on receiving.
  • Removes expired or soon-to-expire drugs from inventory and reorders as necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with USP 797 standards.
  • Completes pharmacy quality improvement assignments and attends annual orientation and other in-services as required.
  • Maintains continuing education credits as required by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board and other regulatory agencies.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a pharmacy technician certification preferred.
