Job Summary
VCM Pharmacy Operations is a leading provider of pharmaceutical services to long-term care facilities and assisted living communities. We take pride in delivering personalized care and quality pharmacy services.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness, ensuring the right drug, dosage, and administration.
- Ensure accurate dispensing and labeling of medicines.
- Make recommendations for therapy changes to physicians and facility staff as needed.
- Maintain customer databases, including medical history and clinical data.
- Investigate and resolve medication-related queries.
- Communicate with nursing staff, physicians, and healthcare team members regarding medication-related queries.
- Supervise the preparation of medicines and maintain controlled drug registers.
- Ensure proper security conditions for medications and perform on-call duties when required.
Qualifications
- Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Alabama.
- Long-term care experience preferred.
- Previous experience in hospital and retail pharmacy or other medical fields.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Computer skills and knowledge of Framework/ECM software a plus.
