We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Nurse to join our team at Hicks Elementary in Alief ISD. Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with disabilities, including those who are medically fragile.
- Administer medication to students according to district policies and procedures.
- Conduct health assessments, including screenings for health factors that impact student education.
- Provide first aid and CPR as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to ensure the well-being of students.
- Manage health records and maintain accurate documentation.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on current laws, trends, and best practices related to school health services.
- Associate's degree from an accredited professional nursing education program.
- Valid registered nurse license from the State of Texas Board of Nursing.
- Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED).
- Minimum of two years of nursing experience in community health, ambulatory care, school health, or other related fields.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
The School Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with students, teachers, and parents. The position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary for this position is $62,000 - $63,000 per year, depending on experience. The Alief ISD offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
