Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Round Mountain mine in Nevada. This open-pit mining operation employs conventional methods and processes ore through both milling and heap leaching.
Key Responsibilities
As a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Adhering to all company policies and procedures, including safety, environmental, confidentiality, and code of conduct.
- Working safely and effectively, minimizing risks to yourself and others.
- Diagnosing and repairing large mining equipment both in the field and in the workshop.
- Interpreting schematics, service manuals, and other technical documentation.
- Meeting or exceeding performance expectations set by management.
- Exercising sound judgment and discretion in all aspects of your work.
- Maintaining punctuality and regular attendance.
- Completing and submitting detailed work orders and service reports.
- Assisting in the development of team members to enhance their skills.
- Performing additional tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A solid foundation of mechanical knowledge.
- A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in heavy equipment repair is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and failure analysis capabilities.
- A willingness to work overtime on short notice.
- A diploma in diesel technology is advantageous.
- The ability to operate various types of equipment, including forklifts, skid steers, telehandlers, and service trucks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A general understanding of mining operations, with some knowledge of milling and maintenance processes.
- Proficiency in using personal computers, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
- Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive communication skills.
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Demonstrated organizational and technical writing skills.
- Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
- A valid driver's license is required.
Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the ALPM Shop Supervisor.
Language Requirements
Fluency in English is required.
