Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Round Mountain mine in Nevada. This open-pit mining operation employs conventional methods and processes ore through both milling and heap leaching.

Key Responsibilities
As a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Adhering to all company policies and procedures, including safety, environmental, confidentiality, and code of conduct.
  • Working safely and effectively, minimizing risks to yourself and others.
  • Diagnosing and repairing large mining equipment both in the field and in the workshop.
  • Interpreting schematics, service manuals, and other technical documentation.
  • Meeting or exceeding performance expectations set by management.
  • Exercising sound judgment and discretion in all aspects of your work.
  • Maintaining punctuality and regular attendance.
  • Completing and submitting detailed work orders and service reports.
  • Assisting in the development of team members to enhance their skills.
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A solid foundation of mechanical knowledge.
  • A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in heavy equipment repair is preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and failure analysis capabilities.
  • A willingness to work overtime on short notice.
  • A diploma in diesel technology is advantageous.
  • The ability to operate various types of equipment, including forklifts, skid steers, telehandlers, and service trucks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A general understanding of mining operations, with some knowledge of milling and maintenance processes.
  • Proficiency in using personal computers, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated organizational and technical writing skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the ALPM Shop Supervisor.

Language Requirements
Fluency in English is required.
