Job Summary:

As an Industrial Maintenance Reliability Technician at Sonoco, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our manufacturing equipment. Your primary responsibility will be to perform proactive maintenance tasks, including preventive and predictive maintenance, to ensure high-quality and timely shipment of Sonoco products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Adhere to safety protocols and lead by example to mitigate risks.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance tasks accurately and promptly.
• Troubleshoot basic electrical and mechanical issues.
• Collaborate with operations to address equipment anomalies.
• Engage in proactive maintenance initiatives, including FMEA and RCCA.
• Utilize internal CMMS to keep detailed records of work for future reference and analysis.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping in personal work areas.
• Demonstrate proficiency in precision welding, shop tools operation, and mechanical repairs.
• Skilled in reading and interpreting mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics.
• Familiarity with electrical systems, including motor controls, wiring, and PLC basics (Allen Bradley).
• Install and maintain auxiliary equipment as required by production.
• Maintain and repair utility and facility-related equipment as directed by the Plant Engineer.
• Assist and train other maintenance personnel with repairs, PMs, and rebuilds.
• Collaborate closely with other departments and teams for proactive problem resolutions.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Manage small projects to maintain or upgrade equipment.
• Perform all duties in support of Sonoco's quality and safety policies.

Requirements:

• Experience in an industrial environment or military experience.
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting, industrial and motor controls preferred.
• Comfortable with mechanical lifts, ladders, kneeling, bending, and twisting, lifting up to 50lbs.
• Working independently and managing multiple tasks in an off-shift position with rotating shifts that will require overtime, including weekends.
