Clinical Services Associate Job Description

Penn Medicine is committed to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing medical research. As a Clinical Services Associate, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical teams and contributing to our mission.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care:
    • Prepare patients for exams, obtain vital signs, and document information in our electronic medical record system.
    • Assist with minor surgical procedures, perform EKGs, and other outpatient screening tests as needed.
    • Respond to emergency situations and provide basic life support as required.
  • Clerical and Administrative:
    • Manage patient flow, answer phones, and respond to patient inquiries.
    • Obtain and scan documents, complete medical forms, and prepare patient correspondence.
    • Assist with scheduling appointments, collecting copays, and updating patient information in our system.
  • Environmental and Safety:
    • Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
    • Dispose of infectious waste properly and ensure that patient care areas are well-stocked and prepared.
Requirements:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required.
  • MA certification required within 90 days of hire (if applicable).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, with 2+ years of medical office or customer service experience.
  • Associate's degree preferred, or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (or higher level equivalent).
