The Cafe operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your customer service, food preparation, communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills will be put to the test.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome customers, assess their needs, respond to inquiries, and provide information about current and upcoming services and products.
- Prepare and serve a diverse range of hot and cold beverages and food items following established recipes and techniques.
- Organize and replenish displays, package, label, date, and rotate food items for sale.
- Utilize equipment, troubleshoot any issues, maintain inventory, and perform routine maintenance.
- Ensure a safe and sanitary work environment by adhering to cleaning, sanitation, and operational standards. Food handling or safety certification may be necessary in certain locations.
- Restock customer service areas, manage supply orders, and maintain cleanliness.
- Temporary roles require availability to work on a weekly basis for a limited duration with occasional weekend shifts and flexibility in scheduling for various shifts.
Physical Requirements:
- Regular movement throughout the store to access different departments and products.
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
- Frequent lifting and occasional reaching, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
COVID-19 Considerations:
Our locations comply with all relevant federal, state, and local guidelines regarding social distancing and sanitization. Depending on individual campus policies, positions may require proof of vaccination. Wearing face masks may also be expected.
Qualifications:
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old to be considered for employment.
- Prior experience in food service is preferred.
- A high-energy, friendly demeanor with strong communication skills to interact with diverse individuals.
- Exceptional customer service abilities to connect customers with suitable products.
- Basic math, typing, and data entry skills are required.
- Flexibility in scheduling is essential.
