Key Responsibilities- Provide a full range of practical nursing care to patients with various physical and/or behavioral problems.
- Work collaboratively with Registered Nurses (RNs) and Medical Doctors (MDs)/Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Administer medications and perform treatments according to established policies and procedures.
- Monitor patients' responses to medications and treatments, and report any deviations from normal to RNs or MDs/DOs.
- Document patient information and maintain accurate records.
- Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by the appropriate State agency and/or accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
- Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or District of Columbia.
- One year of qualifying experience as an LPN or LVN, or graduation from an approved school of at least 24 months duration.
The work involves long periods of moving about the work unit. The work requires regular and recurring bending, lifting, stooping, stretching, lifting, and repositioning and transferring patients. Incumbent may be exposed to patients who are combative, secondary to delirium, dementia, or psychiatric disorders and patients who require restraints.
